WHO IS THE COURSE SUITABLE FOR?

Boys and girls aged 13-18. It is designed for students wanting a taste of UK boarding school life and we have a mix of British and international students.

WHAT LEVEL OF ENGLISH IS REQUIRED?

For the English Language programme students should speak English at a lower intermediate level. Classes are streamed by age and ability to ensure everyone gains the maximum benefit from the lessons.

WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY LIKE?

Busy! Your child will be kept busy and active with days split between academic lessons and other activities.

​

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE WEEKEND?

There is a wide range of activities arranged at the school. Parents who are in the UK can take out their children if they wish.

​

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?

The course price includes all lessons, activities, weekday excursions, accommodation and food. Not included is travel to the school and visas where applicable.

HOW DO I BOOK?

Fill in the form. On receipt of your form, our team will get back to you to confirm a place and at this stage you will be invoiced for the deposit (£500). We will be in touch again to offer you an optional Skype or phone call to say hello and answer any questions, and before the course starts you will be sent a detailed Student Handbook.

WHERE IS THE CAMPUS?

We operate at the Prestigious University of Leicester campus with around the clock security and staff.

WHAT ARE THE ARRANGEMENTS FOR FOOD?

Unlike other summer camps where students subsist on sandwiches, our students have three hot meals a day. All meals are cooked by our on site chefs using top quality fresh ingredients. Students eat together in the dining room.

CAN SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS BE ACCOMMODATED?

Of course. Please let us know in advance.

WHO WILL LOOK AFTER MY CHILD?

A caring team of pastoral staff led by our fully trained and experienced housemistress.

​

WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS AN ILLNESS OR INJURY DURING THE SUMMER SCHOOL?

Our staff are first aid trained, we have caring housemistresses always on hand and access to a medical doctor 24 hours a day.

HOW SECURE IS THE ACCOMMODATION?

The accommodation is all within the main school building where our housemistresses and pastoral staff stay 24 hours a day. The school is based at a safe and secure campus.

CAN I CALL MY CHILD?

Yes of course. We will give you the school telephone number and if your child brings a mobile telephone, they will have access to it daily during social hours.

​

CAN I VISIT MY CHILD?

We suggest that you don’t visit your child during the weekdays as they will have a busy schedule of activities. At the weekends you are welcome to take your child out for the day or for the whole weekend.

CAN YOU ORGANISE FLIGHTS?

You will need to arrange your own flights, but we are happy to advise you about travel arrangements and which airports are best to fly to.

WHAT CLOTHING WILL MY CHILD NEED?

Your child should have clothing suitable for both lessons and playing sports. They should bring a jacket in case of cooler or wet weather. Laundry facilities are available but limited so please make sure you pack enough clean clothing to last for their stay.

WHAT ACADEMIC THINGS WILL MY CHILD NEED TO BRING?

They should bring the usual stationery required at school: a pencil case with pens, pencils and paper.

SHOULD I GIVE MY CHILD ANY MONEY TO BRING?

They won’t need any money, but you can give them a small amount of cash to spend on snacks and souvenirs during our excursions if you wish.

WILL MY CHILD NEED A LAPTOP?

A laptop is not required for the workshops as we encourage handwritten work. However your child is welcome to bring a laptop or tablet to use during social time if they wish.

WILL MY CHILD NEED A MOBILE PHONE?

They do not require one, but can bring a phone (or ipad) if they wish. Access to phones are limited to social time only and at other times they are stored with our housemistresses. Parents are also able to contact their children on the school telephones.
